Womancare / Aegis
A community-based organization working to end domestic violence. Womancare's mission is to provide support and advocacy to persons who are affected by domestic abuse and to work toward the elination of domestic abuse through education and social change.
Womancare is offering walk-in outreach hours in Greenville the 2nd and last Wednesday of each month from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at CA Dean Memorial Hospital in the outpatient services department. Womancare is partnered with Penquis Law to offer legal services the last Wednesday of each month to our clients.
Womancare Services
24 Hour Crisis Helpline - A Womancare advocate is available 24 hours a day to provide crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence.
Advocacy - Womancare advocates provide support, information, and referrals, as well as assist with family court matters.
Support Groups - Womancare provides both open-ended and time-limted support groups for women to meet, talk, share and gain information, and support each other.
Emergency Shelter - Womancare provides emergency shelter for those who are in immediate danger.
Transitional Housing - Womancare offers a Transitional Housing Program.
Community and School-Based Education - Womancare educators work in the community to provide prevention education about domestic violence in schools, churches, business, and civic organizations.
Harmony Camp - Womancare offers a self-esteem camp for ages 6-9.
