Transitional Care At C.A. Dean
Returning home can be premature for any number of medical reasons. In transitional care cases, skilled nursing and/or rehabilitative services are needed on a daily basis. The following are some conditions that may require this type of care.

- Pain Management
- Reconditioning after a lengthy hospital stay.
- Recovery from an accident, injury, illness or surgery (e.g., hip replacement, knee replacement, back surgery)

Maine Dietetic Association Celebrates The First Registered Dietitian Day, Encourages Public To Schedule A "Nutrition Checkup"
On March 10th, Governor John Baldacci signed a proclamation designating March 10th as the first annual Registered Dietitian Day. This proclamation was attended by members of the Maine Dietetic Association as well as Maine's First Lady, Karen Baldacci, herself also a registered dietitian. "Registered Dietitian Day is an opportunity to share our passion for—and our commitment to--quality nutritional care with the people of Maine," says Tina Haluska, president of the Maine Dietetic Association and dietician for the Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
